Sandra O'Meara, 70, of Lincoln, passed away May 20, 2020 at Bryan East due to health complications. She was a Patient Advocate, Principal and Program Director at Lincoln Regional Center. She Graduated from UNL and went into teaching. She taught at Macy in Nebraska and later became principal. She then moved with family to Lincoln and became Principal at Morton School at the Lincoln Regional Center. As programs shifted she became program director then later patient advocate. She retired after complications with her health. She traveled with her husband in the free time they set aside.
Sandra was dedicated to others around her. She would look past all the bad and still see good. She would let anyone barrow her hope for you until you found your own. She would still let you keep her hope. She lived to help others.
She was just as dedicated to her family and her friends. She would always make time for anyone. During this COVID thing she would face time her children and grandchildren. She would also set up window visits as well. She became creative with the help of Fallbrook staff.
She was a resident at Fallbrook. She made many new friends. She enjoyed the activities and outings when she was able to go. She loved her extra fast wheelchair rides down to wherever Rocky took her. She loved her hugs and high fives along the way. She enjoyed knowing her friend Jon helped her adapt when she first moved in.
Sandy is survived by her children, Rebecca Delano, Jason Delano; brothers, Dr. Gary (Lori) Bryant, Lynn Bryant, grandchildren; Alan Delano, Mya Delano,Mya Hernandez, Cordell Delano, Damiana Delano, Shaylee Delano, Noah Delano, Kaylee Delano, many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel O'Meara; parents, Lee Bryant, Mable Howat.
