Abstract 07

Pamela "Pam" Elaine (Burggraf) Lawrence

March 18, 1945 ~ November 4, 2020 (age 75)

Obituary

Pamela "Pam" Elaine Lawrence (Burggraf), daughter of Virgil and Marion was born on March 18, 1945 in Mattoon, Illinois. She passed away peacefully at home on November 4, 2020. After the moving to Lincoln, Nebraska with her father at the age of 14, her step-mother Vivian came into her life. Pam graduated from Lincoln High School in 1963. She spent the last 42 years married to the love of her life Ernest "Ernie" C. Lawrence, Senior. They shared an unconditional and genuine love for each other.

Pam's first 'job' was being a mother and that remained her first priority her entire life. In high school she was a roller skating car hop at A&W drive-in restaurant. She worked at Safeway early in her career as a cashier. Pam was a certified heliarc welder at Hellstar in Wahoo, Nebraska, followed by working at Southeast Community College in the 80's. The majority of her career was as a data entry clerk for the State of Nebraska Department of Revenue beginning in 1988 until retirement in 2012, where she was very proud to have excellent speed and accuracy with 9 key data entry.

Pam was an avid and exceptionally fast reader which allowed her to be like a human dictionary. All spelling requests went to her. Everyone that knew Pam can tell you how much she loved her diet coke and coffee. You could more than likely find her in the nearest smoking area chatting with anyone around her, telling them about her husband, children and/or grandchildren. She might also be found talking about one of the many crime tv shows she loved to watch be it NCIS, Criminal Minds, Blue Bloods or any Murder She Wrote. She was a huge professional wrestling fan, and followed at least 3 different wresting programs each week if not more, along with her weekly Nascar racing.

Pam loved Tigger from Winnie the Pooh so much so she would name her beloved Yorkie dog after the bouncing tiger. She was a fan of Disney movies and characters alike, but Beauty and the Beast was one of her most loved Disney movie. Pam enjoyed watching movies and would watch her favorites again and again, especially any Jurassic Park or The Fast and Furious series. She could never leave out Grease, Mamma Mia, or Twister though. Some Saturday nights would be spent with her children and sisters-in-law watching the latest released blockbuster, and living across the street from a video store made for easy access.

Other things she loved: Shopping, gambling a little at the casino boats, doing her nails, spending time with her family and grandbabies, buying clothes, Burger King sandwiches, tie dye anything, bowling, dancing and loved river dance. She found joy in simple things and some would call her a homebody, but she would do anything for her loved ones.

She will be deeply missed by:

Husband, Ernie Lawrence; Children, Cindy Kapke, Connie Arnold, Shannon Lawrence, Sarah Lawrence and Ernie Lawrence Jr.; 11 Grandchildren (Shawn, Micheal, Chad, Jamie, Brandon (Lauren), Dalton (Amanda), Austin K, Chelsea (Jamison), Rachel, Krystn (Austin W) and Kyla,) and 7 great-grandchildren with 2 more on the way; Brother, Bill Miller (Sandy,) previous spouse, Roger Wallick; Many nieces and nephews and good friends.

She is together again with:

Her parents; Her Son, Warrant Officer 1 Christopher Wallick; Her Son-in-law, Paul Kapke; Brother, Timothy Burggraf, as well as 4 brother-in-laws, 5 sister-in-laws, and some dear friends.
