Kelly James Danaher, 64, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away on October 20, 2020 in Omaha, Nebraska.
Kelly was born September 21, 1956, in Lynch, Nebraska, the son of Thomas and Mildred Danaher. He graduated from Niobrara High School in 1974 before joining the United States Army where he served for four years.
He met Sheree Sullivan in Sioux City, Iowa, and after dating for 3 years the two were united in marriage on June 25, 1983 on a beautiful day at a park in Morningside. Working as a cable lineman, Kelly and Sheree travelled for several years before settling in Lincoln, Nebraska in 1992 where they raised their two sons.
A very loyal man, Kelly worked for Garner Industries for over 20 years as well as the University of Nebraska parking services for 25 years. He was a huge Husker fan; many may have heard him on the radio calling in after games to always support his team. An avid outdoorsman, he loved to golf, hunt, and fish and could always be found faithfully cheering on his sons at their various sporting competitions. Known for his love of cooking and grilling, he always looked forward to hosting family and friends at his annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration dinner. His warm and laid-back personality always made everyone feel welcome.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 37 years, Sheree of Lincoln, Nebraska and two sons, Konner Lee Danaher of Lincoln, Nebraska and Keegan Thomas Danaher and wife Angela of Omaha, Nebraska; three grandchildren who he adored, Scarlett, Haevyn and Dierks Danaher; and a sister Kathleen and husband Byron Bloom of Waverly, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Sharon Larson and Judy Newsam.
