Judith Foster Vifquain

Obituary

Judith Foster Vifquain died in Lincoln on December 7, 2020.  She was born in Lincoln to Victor and Virginia Vifquain on December 11, 1953.  She was married to Michael Allan Foster in Lincoln on July 15, 1992 and they were married until Mike died on September 13, 2015.  Judy’s parents and brothers have all died before her.

Judy was full of life and character: there was no one else like her.  She lived most all of her life in Lincoln, and knew many different groups of people there, from her work, from different organized groups, from school.  She was strong in her loves and passions, which included movies, music, and books.  She was smart and sharp, and there were times that that sharpness was breathtaking and others when it was a bit too strong.  She could be tenacious in asking probing questions, because she wanted to know you or about something.  She was famous for being so immersed in what she was reading that the book would “change her life.”  And many stories (from movies, from books, from someone telling her about an event or person) changed her life.  She loved greatly and she would tell you that with a warm heart and a big hug.  She could be so much fun to be around, interesting and creative, wanting to have fun and be with others.

Judy would not have been one to have any big deal made over her or have an official service for the end of her life, in the same fashion as her deceased husband Mike.

Memorials may be sent to some worthy cause, perhaps the League of Human Dignity, where she worked for years.  You most certainly can send up a prayer or a thought that you are grateful for having known her and how she touched your life.
