Ronald Lee Milano, 70, of Lincoln, NE was born on August 31st, 1953 in Denver, CO to Esther Margaret (Vigil) Milano and Donald Raymond Milano. Ronald passed away tragically in a car accident near Lawerence, Kansas on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 along with his son, Joshua Zachary Milano and daughter-in-law Patricia Ann (Schwechtje) Milano.
He was raised on an acreage just outside of Fruita, CO where he learned how to ride horses, play the guitar, and forage for wild edible plants.
He married the love of his life, Cheryl, on June 3rd, 1979 in a small ceremony in Nevada, MO. After spending some time living in Colorado, the couple moved to Nevada, MO. This is where they worked, made friends, and raised their children.
After getting their three children through high school, the couple relocated to Lincoln, NE to be closer to their new grandchildren. Ron spent some time working at St Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln before he retired.
Ron loved playing his guitar any chance he could get. Being a self-taught guitar player was something he was proud of. He was frequently asked to play for church. His favorite music to play was anything Gospel and anything John Denver. He loved John Denver and had most of his songs memorized.
Being able to provide for his family was something Ron took great pride in, in addition to his skill of making the perfect flour tortillas.
Ron also had a love for martial arts and took classes any chance he could get. His heroes were: Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Chuck Norris, and Jean Claude Van Damme. He would frequently make his children watch those stars in his favorite films while they patiently waited for them to end so they could get back to watching Cinderella and The Lion King.
Demonstrating those martial arts moves to the entire neighborhood in the front yard sans shirt was something the neighborhood kids greatly enjoyed while his children ran into the house to hide under their beds.
Ronald died tragically in a car accident just north of Lawrence, KS on April 3rd, 2024. He was accompanied in death by his son Joshua and daughter-in-law Patricia.
He was preceded in death by his mother- Esther Milano, father- Donald Milano, and wife, Cheryl Milano.
He leaves behind his two sisters Cindy Ward, Sharon Gilbert (Hugh), two daughters- Aimee Smallcomb (Hal) , Jennifer Somers (Roger), five grandchildren-Trystin Somers, Erynn Dowling (John), Brennan Hoskins, Max Hoskins, Olivia Hoskins. Also many cousins, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
There will be a memorial service on Saturday, May 4th at 3PM at Piedmont Park SDA Church in Lincoln, NE.
